Great news! My surgery is scheduled. I will be having duodenal switch surgery on Tuesday, March 16. It is so exciting to have a date set. It is also scary at the same time. It also gives me added motivation because I now have a target date to lose as much weight as I can on my own before surgery. I am down four pounds this week, so that is a step in the right direction. I know the next two months are going to fly by.

ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you for making this choice. I saw you in church yesterday but didn't get to you before you snuck out the door. :) I haven't talked to the two of you in too long and I hope you are well. This is an exciting and yet scary journey you are on, I will be watching the progress on this blog. Please be assured of my prayers. I miss talking to both of you and hope to see you soon.

Hey, congrats!
ReplyDeleteI'm a DSer (almost 5 years out). Welcome to the club.
A 2+ year Dr. Kemmeter DS post-op stopping in to let you know to hang on tight --- you're in for the most amazing ride of your life!! Dr. Kemmeter is a brillant surgeon, so absolutely no worries there. Please make sure you acquaint yourself with the DS Forum on ObesityHelp.com -- that is where you will find the best advice on after-care and living with the DS. I still read it daily and learn so much. You can look me up there if you are interested in getting together with fellow DSers in GR on Feb 6. I wish I had known at least one other DSer prior to my surgery, to take the mystery out of it all!
