It has been nine weeks since I have had surgery. It is amazing how time goes by so quickly. I am adjusting to my new life and new way of eating and drinking fluids. I am on no food restrictions now, as long as my body can tolerate the foods. I have found that my body does not like carbs. I have tried potatoes a couple of times and it was not good for me. So, I am trying to limit my carbs and that seems to be going fine. It is a big adjustment to get used to a new way of eating. It is hard to tell your mind to stop eating after only eating a little bit. It does help to eat at least six small meals a day. I don't like not being able to drink when I eat. It is getting easier for me and I am so happy about that.
I started doing water aerobics three nights a week and LOVE it. Water aerobics is the exercise for me. I have so much fun and love the class that I take. I also added a Zumba class last week and that is a ton of fun. Once I can learn the steps it will be more enjoyable. I couldn't walk after the first Zumba class, but that is okay. :-)
I have been having some pretty cool WOW moments recently. To some people these might seem small, but to someone like me they are huge. I think it is important to count all the small things along the way. I have a long way to go on my journey, so these small things will keep me motivated along the way. Here they are...
1. Was able to completely button a leather jacket that I have never been able to button. And the jacket was already big on me.
2. Went to a restaurant with my husband and we sat in a booth! We are always so used to sitting at a table with chairs. We sat in the booth and I had tons of room.
3. Wore blue jeans for the first time in at least two years.
4. Was able to do stretches are aerobics that I have never been able to do.
Thanks everyone for all your concern and support that you have shown to me. I could not have made it this far without you. Hugs to you all!
I just love wow moments! I'm experiencing them too. Keep it up girl!
